In the future your most common questions and answers will go here but for now I will interview ME and try to answer a few more of the lingering questions over the demise of WGN Radio…
…Hey Steve, what have you been up to since you left the Trib Tower of Terror?
Steve: this unemployment thing is killing me. Its a lot of work. But I have squeezed in golf, naps, and more golf too.
…Hey Steve you seem to be saying you’re busy developing whatever comes next?
Steve: Good observation and yes that’s true. Look here for announcements on all future things that need to be announced and on Facebook and Twitter too.
…Can you let us know specifically what you are working on?
Steve: Not yet.
…ah c’mon. Just give us one of the big ideas.
Steve: If I tell you I’d have to kill you and since you’re actually me that would be counterproductive.
…will you have the usual suspects on the site here – the guests that we loved on your radio show?
Steve: Absolutely and I have my best people looking for new soon-to-be regulars now
…Is there anything we can do to change WGN back to the place we knew and loved?
Steve: As long as Randy Michaels and his bitter band of muppets are in control I’m afraid not. And my not-so-psychic prediction is things there are going to get much worse.
…will you still have access to the Blackhawks and Cubs as guests?
Steve: the Hawks and Cubs get it and have been very supportive so yes there will be more of that, not less
…can you do anything about the Cubs poor play?
Steve: already on it with a collection of Cardinals voodoo dolls and I’m continuing my search for a Genie who has my three wishes
…what will your wishes be?
Steve: world peace/ baldness cure/ Cubs win the World Series…you pick the order

Miss hearing you Steve, hope you wind up someplace here in chicago……… Screw the new managment at WGN
Hi Steve- I miss hearing you so much! This is just a shot in the dark, but did you know the 3-6pm guy on WTMJ radio here in Milwaukee is retiring in December? Any chance you’d be interested in that job? You would be PERFECT, I mean really. You should go for it…. please, please, please?
an adoring fan, Linda
you never know…I love Milwaukee
Milwaukee? While I would love to have you on WTMJ, since I live in the Northern burbs and TMJ comes in clear and strong, wouldn’t that be a heck of a commute from the double wide in E. St Louis?? Okay, maybe you could do a remote 3 days a week from your double wide, have that put in your new contract if you get the gig.
….And Randy Michaels said today, “I still haven’t resigned.”
How about tomorrow Randy, or you waiting for the indictment, you idiot!
Hi Steve,
I’m glad your doing ok. Miss hearing you on the radio. I’m glad someone woke up over at WGN and got rid of Methany and Laski. Now lets see if they can get rid of that French dude. He’s really bad.. What happened to Family Radio I’m sure Bob and Wally are laughing at this one..
Hi Steve – we miss you very much on WGN – any chance with the changes there that you might consider going back? You are still part of the WGN family.
Joe
Just discovered this site and am so glad I can follow you now. WGN is better now, but I really would like to hear you there again. The guy in late pm is not ok, never heard him since I listened to nothing but WGN. He has an enormous ego and he isn’t funny. The early morning guy is missing something, but thankfully I usually sleep thru that time. Am beginning to get used to the mid-morning guy. John seems sort of lost in the middle. Some of the old programs are coming back if in another form, like the sports guys. I know the New Year is past, but if I could still make a wish for this year it would be that you return to the afternoon slot; I really miss you and your friends. Very sorry to learn the Wine Diva lost her battle with cancer. Don’t know if I can pick up your St Louis station on my computer but will certainly try. The very best to you and your family this year.
Steve,
I was a fan when you were in Chicago. I read through your Super Bowl facts and had to cringe when I read the ones involving women. You must already know, but Newsweek published an article dealing with the horrific side of human trafficking/sex trade of young girls in the cities that host the Super Bowl. Below is a quote from the article. I have to say as a woman, I was offended by the sexual references to women in your bit. Might want to reconsider next time.
“While football fans are eagerly anticipating the Feb. 6 Super Bowl showdown in Dallas, some state officials are gearing up for the big game’s dark side: the surge in human trafficking that tends to accompany major sports and entertainment events. ‘What we’ve learned is that sexual trafficking, sexual exploitation of children in particular, is all about supply and demand,’ says Ernie Allen, president of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. With more than 100,000 fans descending on Dallas, that demand is going to be great. There is a ‘looming potential explosion of human trafficking around the Super Bowl,’ says Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, who is expecting hundreds of girls and women to be brought to the area.
Past Super Bowls have borne this out. In the wake of 2009’s game in Tampa, Florida’s Department of Children and Families took in 24 children who’d been trafficked to the city for sex work. Given that Texas, according to Abbott, is second only to California when it comes to trafficking, the figures for Dallas could be even worse.”
HI steve i (we) all miss you hear in chicago :[ what wgn did to you wasnt good and the people told them about it. so i hope you are doing well we all miss you here. you where #1 here :]- so take care of your self k .. oh (lol) if i win the lottlo i WILL bring you back to chicago tell wgn mgn to get the hell out:]– ok take care
D. ear Steve,
I no longer live in the WGN broadcast area, but when I did I was a big fan of you and of WGN. I am still a Steve Cochran fan. What a shame that greedy baboons got hold of WGN radio. Man it used to be so great and then they started to make the cuts. I don’t think management ever understood all the good you did for the station. No one, not even legendary Wally could attract big name guests like you did and interview then with truly intelligent questions and follow up responses that demonstrated you knew what you were doing.
So now you really do get to live in that double wide in St. Louis.
Steve,
Great being with you at Medinah the other day. Looking
forward to seeing you with Mark, MJ and all those attending
Patriot Day at MCC. Enjoying you on KTRS, 550, St Louis, Mo.
Come back to Chicago, we need you here——–
Marty
it will be a blast…thx Marty
Surprised my favorite show, Michael Savage is gone and moved to another station at end of the dial that I can hardly pick up. I will give you a chance but hope you can do conservative talk like Mr. Savage. No offense, WIND should have kept Savage so I hope you can maintain a good level on conservative talk radio. Good luck on the new time slot.
I was listening to your program on Wednesday evening and had to write. This is regarding your interview with the woman who has accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment. If these allegations are true my heart goes out to this woman because I too was sexually harassed and it’s awful and very, very traumatic. I have to say that I was somewhat perplexed and could not understand why she would wait so long to report this. I reported the harassment very soon after the incident. Just because this man is now running for president should not have been her main reason, for her own respect and dignity it should have been reported. Also, from my own experience and it was almost 10 years ago, I cannot even be in the same room with the man who harassed me. I could never approach him, touch him in any way, let alone speak to him~ it was that traumatic. So for me having experienced this I am having a difficult time understanding this. Something just does not seem right. Also, on your program you stated that Herman Cain should have just basically did a blanket apology to anyone he may have offended, if he knows he did nothing why in the world would he admit to that in any way shape or form because then that is an admission of guilt. I know this woman is a former colleague of yours and it is understandable you would stand with her, but the person who harassed me was also a colleague and if someone would have told me earlier that he was capable of harassment I would not have believed them. To this day I still get choked up when I speak of my own incident because it was so degrading and I didn’t sense that she was upset, it did feel very scripted to me. Almost too perfect. My own recollection of my harassment is sketchy because it is so surreal at the time. However if what she is saying is true my heart does go out to her. I pray the truth does come out. Susan
Steve,
We have been at your New Years Eve shows and wanted to know if you are having one again this year. Please let us know if you are and information about location and how we can be apart of the audience. Hoping it will be in Hawaii ( like that will happen).
Nice that you are back in Chicago radio!
